About Hanna
For years, I asked who gets a say. Eventually, I had to ask myself the same question.
Hi, I'm Hanna.
Before becoming a coach, I worked in economics, legislative analysis, activism, and nonprofit communications.
One question kept following me:
Who is affected by this decision—and did anyone ask them?
In advocacy work, I kept seeing decisions made far from the people who would have to live with the consequences. I learned to ask who was carrying the cost—and whether they had been part of the conversation.
I was much better at asking that question for other people than for myself.
Being useful came easily. Asking for help did not.

What do you need?
Later, as a coach, I found myself sitting across from people who could tell me exactly what everyone else needed.
When I asked what they needed, sometimes there was a long pause.
I knew that pause.
It's why I'm interested in what happens before the automatic yes: what makes stepping in feel necessary, what feels risky about not doing it, and whether the problem is yours, the situation around you, or both.
The Library Card
I grew up in Indonesia, where my school had one bookshelf. I spent hours in bookstores reading books I couldn't afford to take home.
When I was twelve, we moved to the United States. My mother took me to a library, and a librarian handed me my first card.
Borrow. Return. Borrow again. No catch.
I could take something valuable home without proving I deserved it first.
Support could simply be available.
That idea shapes how I coach.
If you tell me, “I know what I should do,” I may get curious about the should.
If you don't know what you want yet, you don't have to manufacture an answer.
I'll ask questions, tell you what I notice, and challenge an assumption when it helps. We'll look at what's happening—inside you and around you.
My job is not to take over the decision. It is to help you see enough that you can make it with your eyes open.

The goal was never to care less.
I've learned to notice whether giving is a choice.
“I can help” doesn't have to end the conversation.
There's still room to ask:
Is this mine? Do I want to? What do I need?
That's what I want for the people I coach: more say in what they carry, what they receive, and where they go next.
